October 1st I’m starting an online degree with Western Governors University. So far my chosen degree has been Information Technology. I can change to one of the emphasis areas after my first term, but the basic ground work for all paths are seemingly identical. I’m really looking forward to their style of learning, as I will be earning a bachelors degree and certifications as part of the curriculum. Maybe this time I’ll stay in a school for more that one semester and actually get something out of it? :)

So far I have viewed the intro demo, and tonight I attended a webinar/phone conference showing how the online learning and test processes function. My first class will actually be “Education Without Boundaries”, which is an introduction course to familiarize you how the student portal works, how tasks are complete, speaking with your mentor, and the internal plumbing of the system. I will also have to take an initial reading/writing and math skills assessment.

It seems befitting to earn an online degree when most of my waking time is spent on the internet, right?
