My place to hold myself accountable!

Pictures

First Row – 4/22/09

Hovering around 190-192lbs. Feeling a lot better than the previous pictures. This week also marks the 5th week in a workout routine we’ve been doing. I’ve noticed some definite increases. Vascularity in my arms has also risen. I almost can see the slight edges of my abs if I twist up and pull the skin a little bit :)

Second Row – 2/26/09

199.5 lbs this morning! However I’ve been fluctuating between 197 and 198 most days. We also are working on a home gym setup, I’ve started bike commuting to work, and I’ve started a running program. Hopefully my next progress pictures will be even better.

Third Row – 1/3/09

This is me at 209 lbs. I’ve come quite a ways from 280 lbs. I have stretch marks as a result of it, and I’m positive the skin on my stomach will be loose. The pictures below are also me not “sucking up”.

I started the Velocity Diet January 1st, 2009.

Update: 1/31/09 – I have to be honest here… I didn’t stick to it at all. If you see my basic V-Diet posts, around day 4 I was feeling a bit ill, and eating solid food made me feel better. For most of the month of January I did replace many meals with protein shakes, and I felt pretty good. I’ve seen some body composition changes by eating so much protein and lifting weights.

I had an old back injury reoccur on 1/24/09, and until today (1/31/09) i’ve taken it easy and done no physical activities. Hopefully soon I will be back doing resistance training, with some modifications. Instead of standard squats i’ll be doing more of the back-supported machine squats. I also will try to do step-ups with holding weights. Basically I will be trying to relieve the load on my lower back/spine by doing those heavier exercises. I will also be doing additional back work to try and target the erector spinae (link) directly.
